What we collect, and why
When you read this site
Nothing. We do not run analytics, and we do not set cookies to identify you or measure your visit. Our hosting provider processes standard web server logs (IP address, page requested, time) briefly, for security and to keep the site running — the same as any website, and not used to build a profile of you.
When you start a subscription
Payment is handled by Stripe: your card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. We hold the identifier Stripe gives us, your email address and your billing address, so we can administer your subscription and contact you about it.
Who else is involved
- Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
- Our hosting provider — serving the site.
That is the whole list. We do not sell your personal data. We never have and we are not going to.
Where your data is held
Stripe processes payments outside the UK in places. Where data leaves the UK it does so under the safeguards the law requires, either an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Subscription and billing records are kept while the subscription is active and for six years afterwards, because that is how long we have to keep financial records.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us using it. Email {{privacy_email}} and we will reply within a month.
One honest limit: we cannot delete financial records we are legally required to keep.
If you think we have got something wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Changes
If we change this materially we will say so on the site rather than quietly editing the page.
